Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and LedgerFinch (ABN 90 397 855 095, "we"). By creating an account or buying pages, you agree to them. If you're using LedgerFinch for a business or for clients, you're agreeing on behalf of that business too.
The service
LedgerFinch reads bank statement PDFs and turns the transactions into files you can import into accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB, or into CSV and Excel layouts you design. For each statement, we check that the transactions add up from the opening balance to the closing balance (we call this "reconciling") and show you the result.
Check your imports
You are responsible for checking the converted data before you rely on it. The reconciliation check catches most errors, but it can't guarantee every date, description or amount is right, and some statements can't be read reliably. Always compare the result with the original statement before importing it, lodging returns or giving advice based on it.
Your account
- You need a verified email address to use the service. Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Only upload statements you're entitled to use: your own, your business's, or your clients' with their authority.
- Don't try to overload, probe or break the service. Don't use it to process anything unlawful, and don't resell it without our written agreement.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account for any other reason, we'll refund your unused pages.
Pages and payment
- Conversions are paid for in pages: each page of a statement PDF uses one page. New accounts get 10 free pages once their email address is verified.
- You're only charged for statements that reconcile. If a conversion fails, it's free. Re-uploading the same file within 24 hours is also free.
- You buy pages in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay, in the currency of the checkout, and include any taxes that apply. Purchased pages don't expire.
- Pages have no cash value and can't be transferred between accounts. They can be refunded only as set out in our refund policy.
- We may change prices for future purchases. Pages you've already bought are never affected.
Your data
Your statements and converted data remain yours. We use them only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy, which explains that uploaded PDFs are deleted straight after conversion. Keep your own copies of your statements and exports: LedgerFinch is not a storage service.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep LedgerFinch available and working well, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features, including which banks and export formats are supported. We'll give reasonable notice before removing anything you rely on.
Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't legally be excluded, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and, for UK consumers, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Liability
Subject to those rights:
- The service is provided as it stands. We don't promise it will be error-free or suit every statement.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill. That includes loss caused by relying on converted data you didn't check.
- Where the Australian Consumer Law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of doing so.
- In any case, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using LedgerFinch at any time, and ask us to close your account by emailing support@ledgerfinch.com. Unused pages are refunded only as set out in the refund policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using LedgerFinch after that, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, and the courts of South Australia can hear any dispute. If you're a consumer living in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that country still apply.
